The Story of the Parrot at the Window

On Friday October 3rd, 2014, at about 7 am, I opened the big front window of our apartment as I always do. A little green parrot came to our window. It hovered like a helicopter for a while, shrieking loudly and then to my surprise, it perched itself at the bottom of our open window, looking into our apartment. Baby Lia was screaming that she wanted to get closer and the boys wouldn't let her. Meantime I was scrambling to get the camera, sure that by the time I got it, it would fly away. But it was still there, just looking into our apartment. Finally we couldn't hold Lia back anymore and she went right up to it and babbled in excitement. Eventually, the parrot flew off but the whole time, I felt like it was trying to tell us something. That evening, Amir left us.
